How many credit accounts can we apply for in one day?
My husband and I bought our first home. It is a fixer upper. We have about 15k cash to fix it up, but want to add some things to credit. The home is going to close on Tuesday and we were told not to apply for any credit cards (home depot, Lowes, etc) until after it closes.
My question is, can we run out to all of these places and apply for credit the same day without it hurting our ability to be approved? We have good credit and should qualify for at least some credit. But would it be better to apply at Home Depot one day and then Lowes the next? Or do them all on the same day?
I know credit is tight these days and I don't think places like this are leanding a lot of money right now... that is why we thought to apply to several places to increase our spending ability.

2 simple questions about credit cards. 10 points**&*&*?
So I must get a credit card for university. There are far too many things that I am unable to do without one and I have made the choice to get one. I have questions though.
What is an interest rate really? I know what it means by definition, and how to apply it, but I don't know how credit cards apply it. If, for example, I use my credit card for a purchase of 100 dollars but I go home that very day and immediately pay it off, do I still get charged the interest? Or is the interest specifically if I do not pay my balance within a set period of time?
Also, the TD Visa Green Card claims to have no annual fees. Does that mean that I should not have any fees to pay whatsoever as I use the credit card (with the exception of interest of course)? Or is there like, a monthly fee? or a fee for every time I use the CC?

You get charged interest if you have not paid off the bill by the end of the grace period. In the US that is generally 25 days. So if you make a purchase and pay the bill off before 25 days you are charged no interest.
- it does not make sense "to go home and pay the bill" = it can take up to 3 days for the transaction to actually appear on the credit card. Paying once a month is generally sufficient.
