Are all the companies which offer poor credit loans bogus?
I was just curious. As someone with a poor credit rating can't borrow from high street banks or main lenders, you keep reading about the "High 'Interest Rate" loans which they sometimes resort to. But it appears that all the loan brokers and companies which offer these kind of loans are bogus, ie asking for admin fees etc before they do anything.
Are there any genuine ones?
Anyone who wants finance but has a poor credit rating will end up paying higher interest rates.
Many of the companies that advertise loans for people with a poor credit rating are actually " finance brokers"; normally, they don't give the loans themselves but search for loans for you, and will charge "admin" fees (Wentworth, Yes Loans, Loans-For-Tenants, etc)
The more popular ones that DON'T require fees to process loans are companies that actually provide the loans, such as Welcome Finance & Provident.

What two adjustments are usually made to the cash value account in a universal life policy?
1. Cost of the term Insurance protection is charged and current interest earned is credited
2 current interset and insurance premiums are credited.
3 guaranteed interst is earned and premiums are credited

Credit Value Adjustment (CVA) and Counterparty Credit Risk Workbook
The first decade of the 21st Century has been disastrous for financial institutions, derivatives and risk management. Counterparty credit risk has become the key element of financial risk management, highlighted by the bankruptcy of the investment bank Lehman Brothers and failure of other high profile institutions such as Bear Sterns, AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The sudden realisation of extensive counterparty risks has severely compromised the health of global financial markets. Counterparty risk is now a key problem for all financial institutions. This book explains the emergence of counterparty risk during the recent credit crisis. The quantification of firm-wide credit exposure for trading desks and businesses is discussed alongside risk mitigation methods such as netting and collateral management (margining). Banks and other financial institutions have been recently developing their capabilities for pricing counterparty risk and these elements are considered in detail via a characterisation of credit value adjustment (CVA). The implications of an institution valuing their own default via debt value adjustment (DVA) are also considered at length. Hedging aspects, together with the associated instruments such as credit defaults swaps (CDSs) and contingent CDS (CCDS) are described in full. A key feature of the credit crisis has been the realisation of wrong-way risks illustrated by the failure of monoline insurance companies. Wrong-way counterparty risks are addressed in detail in relation to interest rate, foreign exchange, commodity and, in particular, credit derivative products. Portfolio counterparty risk is covered, together with the regulatory aspects as defined by the Basel II capital requirements. The management of counterparty risk within an institution is also discussed in detail. Finally, the design and benefits of central clearing, a recent development to attempt to control the rapid growth of counterparty risk, is cons

Consumer credit has become a topical issue for researchers, regulators and the banking industry in Europe as a result of increasing market integration, regulatory changes and a growing tendency of households to use debt to finance consumption. This study uses a cross-country approach to look at a broad range of issues related to consumer credit in Europe. Focusing on both the supply and demand sides, it takes into account the structure and performance of financial intermediaries, the socio-demographic and economic profile of households and their risk of over-indebtedness, as well as the regulatory framework, such as the new Consumer Credit Directive. In the light of this analysis, measures for the prevention and management of over-indebtedness are presented. This book is essential for postgraduate students and specialists in financial institutions, for regulators and policy-makers who are in charge of efficiency and stability of financial systems.

An up-to-date resource on the intricacies of the credit default swap basisWhile credit default swaps and credit derivatives are of great concern to many in the field of finance, the Second Edition of The Credit Default Swap Basis does not directly focus on these issues. It is instead about an aspect of CDS behavior, the basis, which is of importance to all users of CDS products. An understanding of the basis is essential to anyone involved in the credit-risky debt capital markets, whether you`re an investor, trader, or broker. The credit default swap basis (the basis) defines the relationship between the cash and synthetic credit markets. Finance professionals need to understand the drivers of the basis in order to better undertake investment and value analysis, and for trading purposes. In this updated Second Edition, author Moorad Choudhry, a market practitioner who has published widely in the field of credit derivatives, explores this dynamic discipline and examines the structural changes in the CDS market, including new settlement mechanisms and contract standardization. Along the way, he describes how basis pricing has changed in the aftermath of the financial crisis and what that change means in regard to overall market and trading opportunities. The only book on basis issues of credit default swaps, it provides practitioners with vital information on valuation, credit risk assessment, and basis trading strategiesAddresses structural changes to the market, including the introduction of central clearing houses in the U.S. and Europe and standardization of contracts to reduce disputes about payout settlementsCovers the close relationship between the synthetic and cash markets in credit, which manifests itself in the credit default swap basisThe Credit Default Swap Basis, Second Edition offers invaluable market insights to all financial professionals seeking a deeper understanding of cr

A targeted volume in the area of credit, this reliable resource contains some of the most recent and original research in this field, which addresses among other things important questions raised by the credit crisis of 2008-2009. Divided into two comprehensive parts, Quantitative Credit Portfolio Management offers essential insights into understanding the risks of corporate bonds—spread, liquidity, and Treasury yield curve risk—as well as managing corporate bond portfolios.Presents comprehensive coverage of everything from duration time spread and liquidity cost scores to capturing the credit spread premiumWritten by the number one ranked quantitative research group for four consecutive years by Institutional InvestorProvides practical answers to difficult question, including: What diversification guidelines should you adopt to protect portfolios from issuer-specific risk? When a kindhearted Latino woman takes in a former banking genius-turned-suicidal fugitive, the pair engage in a series of intense philosophical discussions that soon climax in a passionate affair. Once upon a time, Bill was the golden boy of the banking industry -- a financial wiz who specialized in buying and selling the debts of emerging countries. These days, Bill is a wanted man, and a run-in with the law means a stiff prison sentence. One day, while contemplating suicide, Bill crosses paths with Angela, a free-spirited woman whom he would have never known in his former life. While Bill and Angela share little in common when it comes to their backgrounds, their stimulating conversations about sex, philosophy, and other earthly delights lead them both to realize they have more in common than they previously thought. Now, as the pair enters into a heated affair, the course of Bill`s life begins to take an abrupt and unexpected turn.
Should we pay children to read books or to get good grades? Should we put a price on human life to decide how much pollution to allow? Is it ethical to pay people to test risky new drugs or to donate their organs? What about hiring mercenaries to fight our wars, outsourcing inmates to forprofit prisons, auctioning admission to elite universities, or selling citizenship to immigrants willing to pay? In What Money Can’t Buy, Michael J. Sandel takes up one of the biggest ethical questions of our time: Isn’t there something wrong with a world in which everything is for sale? If so, how can we prevent market values from reaching into spheres of life where they don’t belong? What are the moral limits of markets? In recent decades, market values have crowded out nonmarket norms in almost every aspect of life—medicine, education, government, law, art, sports, even family life and personal relations. Without quite realizing it, Sandel argues, we have drifted from having a market economy to being a market society. In Justice, an international bestseller, Sandel showed himself to be a master at illuminating, with clarity and verve, the hard moral questions we confront in our everyday lives. Now, in What Money Can’t Buy, he provokes a debate that’s been missing in our market-driven age: What is the proper role of markets in a democratic society, and how can we protect the moral and civic goods that markets do not honor and money cannot buy?

I need to process credit cards for customers of my small business.
I own a computer repair shop - service, sales, and support.
Most of my transactions are between $50-150.
I get between 3-15 CC transactions per month.
Here is what I would like to be able to do:
Have a phisical terminal that allows me to swipe a card in person for a low rate.
Be able to process online through the merchant website in case it is an on-site job or internet sale.
Maybe if they have an app for the iPhone that would be a bonus. Not necessary, but would like.
No setup, annual, rental, termination, cancelation, equipment, minimum, etc. fees. No BS.
I just want to pay a low monthly rate, and low transaction fee. PERIOD.
THANKS~!
It sounds like you need a simple Dialpay account since you have such a low amount of transactions. You simply make a call and enter in the card info and transaction is completed! It will cost you more, but it is so easy to setup and use. Expect to pay around 3-4% Flat or if you can find a lower rate sich as $2.50 and $.75 per transaction that works better since you have a low ticket size.
If you want to use your iphone as a credit card swipe, then it will cost you more to process as you need to purchase extra equipment. I just don't think that is worth the investment. If you need help searching for a provider, I found this information helpful:
Try emailing me as well I can perhaps find you something better.
