I am being sued by a credit card company. At the same time, the attorney sent me a letter offering a settlement for my debt. The amount was for 35% of the debt after adding on all the fees, but I do not know how to proceed. Ford Motor Credit will take anyone, and once you have a car in your name make some payments on it and you can go ANYWHERE and trade it in for something else, thats what I did, I needed a co-signer though bc I hadnt had the car that long.

Am I responsible for estate taxes for a credit card bill?
My Mother in Law passed away over 3 years ago. She had outstanding credit card bill of over $5,000. I am now getting a notice from the bank saying her estate is responsible for the tax of that write off. The only problem is she had nothing when she died. No property, no money, no estate. Nothing. Do I now have to pay for this write off. I am very upset about this. Thanks for your answer.
It is not a collection agency. It is Bank of America stating they wrote it off, and the estate must pay.
You are not responsible for your mother-in-law's debt. Her estate would have been. Inform the collection agency that she died broke. They should stop bugging you.
