I agree and disagree wit mccoyblues. I started going to auctions with my dad well over 50 years ago. I still attend what is probably the largest dealer only auction in the US from time to time. All dealers look up the wholesale in the black book either before or after looking at the car. They know how to check for previous body damage. miles, cold air, tires and appearance. You go out and look for the type of cars you are interested in buying before it hits the block, because it only there at a busy dealer auction for maybe 30 seconds. The black book is the only book that dealers, almost all bank and credit unions use, but you've got to learn how to use it. Wholesale prices change from week to week, so know manner how well you know cars you still need a price guide if you want to be competitive.

Recently I got a couple of domains from Network Solutions. A colleague in IT just raved about how they're the best, they have the most services, they're the Hertz/VISA/Nike/AmazoneBay of web services - how could I go wrong?
Well, I'm thinking I did go wrong. Though my friend touted the "free" website setup I could get at NS, I ended up paying $60 annual for lowest-tier web hosting. That's OK, but then I found out I had to use THEIR web design tool - and after a 30-day trial, THAT will also cost me. Further, their tool is worse than inflexible - it fails to function because it overrides or erases my setup.
What I'm thinking now is to transfer my domains (since I own them now) to another web service (GoDaddy or some other). I want to contact my credit card company and cancel the web hosting/design tool part of my purchase with NS.
Has anyone dealt with managing their own domains and websites? Any *good* advice (as opposed to my colleague's) as to what my options are now?
You can leave the domain names registered with NS if you want. I have found them to be reliable for domain registration. You can then host your domain at any location that you want.
Domain name registration and web site hosting are separate functions and don't have to be at the same company. I have worked with numerous companies that host their own site but register the domain name else where. It is a fairly easy process. All you will need to do is once you have the web hosting site ensure they enter the proper DNS records for your site. That will then propagate across the Internet. You can tell NS where the site is once you set it up and they can also update their DNS and WHOIS database.

Stolen credit cards? Validation of virtual credit cards?
I have heard about the credit cards that are robed and sold through the internet. Recently, I have bought a virtual credit card and I am wondering that if it is a valid and original credit card or it is a robed one. You know, I do not want to do illegal things or to use other people money.
I did not buy it from a website claiming it deals in stolen cards. It claims that the cards are original. But everyone can claim everything. Actually, I am in Iran and we cannot get VISA, Master Card, or other well known credit cards from Banks. This is a website that claims it gets the virtual credit cards from a bank in UK or Spain.
Is there any way that I can check this? A website that I can check the validity of my credit card number? Or, some where that I can investigate it?

Usually credit cards bear the holder's name. I'm not sure about a virtual credit card but you can check if you should use your name for any transaction or not?

I would like to combine the accounts at each bank. Has anyone ever done this or know of a way to do so. I have good credit but way to much, it is lowering my credit score. By combining I'm hoping to lower my payments. I don't think I would qualify for a new card to transfer balances.
you may want to see if you can get a card with a balance that is twice the amount of what you owe, then transfer the balances to the new card, or some of it to up the amount of available credit on each card, which will up the fico score. or you can see if you can get a credit limit increase on each card. but don't cancel any cards yet, even if you completely transfer the balance, otherwise that credit history and avalible credit is gone.

Any web designers that have enabled credit card processing on a website, how do you do it? Do you just crearte a order form and have the customer's info sent to the site's e-mail address, or do you have to do something really complicated?
You can link through to Paypal and have them do all the work for you for a small fee. They accept all cards whether the user has a paypal account or not.
This would prob be the best idea because Paypal have all the risk of handling the card details and the security issues.
People are more likely to use their card details with Paypal then just trust you to email them to yourself without any encryption.
